Fundraiser for Liseth Perez - Harlem building explosion recovery 

Lisbeth's husband was killed in the Harlem explosion. Her home was destroyed. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists NYC Chapter have organized a fundraiser to help Liseth in this difficult time.

La Casa Azul Bookstore collecting conations for explosion victims 

This is information provided by bookstore owner and Wise Latina Aurora Anaya-Cerda 

La Casa Azul Bookstore is now an auxiliary center for donations for those displaced, injured, and otherwise affected by the East Harlem explosion. Drop off donations by Sunday, March 16th and they will deliver them to Assembly Member Robert Rodiguez’s office to be distributed to those affected.

Donations can be made anytime during regular bookstore hours for the rest of this week (Thursday March 13 - Sunday March 16, 2014) Visit the bookstore blog for a list of most needed items: http://luchalibrosnyc.blogspot.com/


March 22 - Dia de la Mujer at Michigan State University

This information was provided by Wise Latina, Terry Beltran. 
   
The  conference goals are to empower, motivate, inspire, connect and support Latinas and all women in their quest for advancement in society. DDLM is also an excellent opportunity for non-Latinos, who are interested in learning about the beliefs, views, and way of life in the Latino community.

March 25 - Latinas Leading the Country, Free Webinar

The Night Justice Sotomayor Changed the Life of an 8-year-old Girl 


Patricia Carrion Mora made plans to see Justice Sonia Sotomayor speak in Seattle. Her granddaughter went along, and even wrote down a question for the Supreme Court judge.  Suddenly, the judge was asking the little girl to join her on the stage. Read more at Patty's Utopia
