Latino Magazine: Help a Latino student, build a better community

A few months ago I was asked to talk about my career as a journalist to several hundred Latino teenagers in Dallas. I was then asked to write an article for Latino Magazine about my thoughts on mentoring and reaching out to Latino students.

I think if we all help at least one Latino student, even a child we don't know, we can help build a better community.

So the next time you're asked to share your career with a class of students, don't hesitate, just do it. You may not know right away how your message will impact a child, but believe me you will make a difference.
