Business Owner says "How to Catch an Illegal Immigrant" T-shirts are not Racist

This has to go under one of the dumbest business moves yet. A Mexican restaurant owner in South Carolina thinks she has a great way to bring in business. She's selling t-shirts that read "How to Catch an Illegal Immigrant."

The t-shirt shows a make-shift trap of a wooden box with two tacos  used as bait. A reporter with WLTX-TV went to find out what was going on. The owner of Taco Cid, Leanne Snelgrove doesn't think the t-shirt message is racist.

In a comment to CNN via WLTX, Snelgrove says...

"We pay taxes, I think that uh, if you're an illegal immigrant then you….don't need to be here or you need to get your job with paying your taxes. Ugh, you know….we just….not down with illegal immigrants." 

Snelgrove obviously is not smart enough to realize that in many cases illegal immigrants do pay taxes, but just don't file for tax returns. According to a story in USA Today:

"The Internal Revenue Service doesn't track a worker's immigration status, yet many illegal immigrants fearful of deportation won't risk the government attention that will come from filing a return even if they might qualify for a refund."

Snelgrove told the reporter that her husband had been fired from his job and replaced by an undocumented worker.  Did her husband really get fired because of an undocumented worker or is that just an easy excuse?

Snelgrove claims the 35 dollar t-shirts are selling out and now she's getting orders from people in different parts of the country.  But here's the deal, no one is talking about the food.  We thought she was in the restaurant business.

Well, Snelgrove was smart enough to put the restaurant's address, phone number and email on the back of the t-shirts.
